How do I add a Signature to my Posts? by Twinx
To add a Signature at the bottom of all of your posts you need to go to the
Profile button at the top of the forum, then click on
Signature and type what you want into the
Edit Signature window, then click on
Save. If you want your signature to appear on all of the posts you make, you must then click on
Preferences at the top of the screen.
Find the sentence that says:
Always attach my signature : YES NO and click on YES.
To add a picture to your Signature you firstly need to upload the image you want from your computer onto a website like Photobucket, Tinypic or Flickr, then you need to copy and paste the
[IMG] code into the Edit Signature window, click on
Save and it's done.
- Code:
-
[img] funk funk funk funk [/img]
To add a Link you need to put the
URL into the window and click
Save.
- Code:

Signature Guidelines by Twinx
This is a work in progress and may not apply to our new forum! Here are some guidelines to follow when creating your signature:
1. When adding a Signature/Funkey Banner please ensure that it is no wider than 685 pixels and try to keep the height down as much as you can.
2. If you are adding other images, e.g. Collectors Cards/Trophies/Badges or other small pictures try to keep them on one line to save space.
3. When adding text or links try to put as many as you can on one line instead of listing them in a column.
Here are some links you might find useful while making your signature:

Tips on becoming a Signature Monitor by imgardien
First, you need to read the rules. At the very top of the main page there's a topic called
Posting Rules and Regulations. That has the basic rules that everyone should follow.
It's
https://rufunkey.forumotion.com/rules-updated-f1/forum-rulesupdated-t2.htmThen two lines below
Posting Rules and Regulations is
Frequently Asked Questions. If you look in there, you'll see a topic called
Signature Guidelines. You can also get to it by clicking here:
http://www.ubfunkeys.com/forums/Default.aspx?g=posts&t=3221Twinx put it there, and she included some useful links to other topics. Please read it, and check out the links as well.
Basically it says your sig shouldn't be too big. Not too wide and not too tall. If it's too wide, it's hard to find the QUOTE or ADD REPLY buttons. If it's too long, it takes you a long time to get to the next post - or you may not even be able to see that there's another post!
i'm gonna use theswampert's siggie as an example, because it's long, but not
too long (nice job theswampert). i've shrunk it down a bit on here but the important part is where i've added the red arrow. If the grey line at the top is just visible at the top of your screen, then you should be able to see at least a bit of the next post at the bottom, under the bottom part of the red arrow. And you can - which means theswampert's sig is just fine.
Go look at one of theswampert's posts - they're not hard to find! - and see if what you see is like what i've posted. If it is, then you have the correct screen resolution to tell if a signature is too long. i know there's a post somewhere that tells you what your screen resolution should be, but i can't remember it right now.
It's even easier to tell if a sig is too wide - if you can't see the ADD REPLY, NEW TOPIC and QUOTE buttons, then it's too wide. You have to be careful though, because sometimes you can't see those buttons because the
post is too wide. That happens when somebody leaves out the spaces in a sentence, or if they post a big picture.
You can see what i mean if you click here:
http://www.ubfunkeys.com/forums/Default.aspx?g=posts&t=10009That's a posting problem, not a signature violation. It's not something for signature monitors to worry about.
So what do you do if you see a problem with a signature?
As I said, i'm not a sig monitor, so i don't know what
they would do, but here's my advice:
1) always remember that if someone's sig is too big, they may not realize it. It's probably just a mistake, and we all make mistakes. So don't be mean or yell at them. I don't think you would anyway because you're always so polite, but i think it's important to always remember this. Your goal is to help them fix their signature, not punish them for it.
2) you can REPLY to the member's post and let them know it looks too big. That's what i usually do.
3) you can look at the first post in the
Off Topic Conversations section. It's a 'sticky' post which means it's always at the top. The link is:
http://www.ubfunkeys.com/forums/Default.aspx?g=posts&t=9073Look there and see if the member's name is on IMFunkey's list. If it is, you don't have to do anything. The sig monitors have already done their job.
4) you can post in that topic and ask IMFunkey to look at the member's signature. Make sure you spell the member's name correctly so IMFunkey can find it easily. IMFunkey will take it from there. You have to be careful what you say when you do this, because some people might think you're being mean. A simple, "Hi IMFunkey, maybe you should look at imgardien's signature" is all you need to say.
Personally, i would stick to #2. Then people will understand you're just trying to help them avoid having their signature deleted. i've only used #4 once, when i saw something that shouldn't be in someone's sig. Don't worry, it wasn't rude or anything, it just didn't belong. So i told IMFunkey and she fixed it, but i still felt like a tattletale, and that's not something that anyone likes.
i hope this helps, alexn25, and i hope one of the real sig monitors will add some advice too. They're the real experts.
p.s. to the signature monitors: Thanks for all your hard work - it really helps!
